Choose understanding over ignorance.
Increase your knowledge of mental health prevalence and stigma within the South Asian community through storytelling, psychoeducation, and intentional dialogue.
Welcome
Hello,
I’m Ramya! My name is of Indian origin and means “delightful.” Ever since I was a kid, I wished for ways that I could help others and make life just a bit more pleasing during unpleasant and painful moments.
Fast forward two decades and I’m a psychotherapist with professional work experience in Domestic Violence (in the South Asian community), and oncology social work.
Currently, I’m also a master’s student at Harvard Medical School studying Media, Medicine & Health with an interest in exploring access to pediatric palliative care through screenwriting.
My hope is to educate through conversations, while elevating stories that inspire realism, reassurance, and radiance with an aim of reducing mental health stigma in South Asia + the diaspora. This includes, but is not limited to topics around grief and bereavement, chronic illness, healthcare directives, mental illness, interpersonal violence, anxiety, and overall well-being.
